Chasing the Wind of Toil
(Ecclesiastes 2:18-26)
The gain of hard work isn't larger barns to give to who knows who, but to delight in the work and wisdom of God.
The hard work of legacy. (18-21)
The hard work of restless sorrow. (22-23)
The hard work of pleasing God. (24-26)
Reflection Questions
What kept you awake at 3:00 AM this week? Does that restlessness reveal a "barn" you are trying to build or a "legacy" you are trying to control?
Where are you currently saying, "If I build this well enough, I will be justified"? How would your Monday change if you viewed your work as a gift to be received rather than a monument to be carved?
Since Jesus has already completed the "Hard Work of Pleasing God" on your behalf, what "burden of control" can you repent of and leave at His table today?
