Same-Sex Sexuality (Romans 1:18-32)
As we traverse through Romans, we'll stumble through passages that'll prompt questions, push buttons, and rightly leave folks wanting to hear more than what is possible (or appropriate!) for a sermon. That said, we'll do our best to proactively offer resources, record some pastoral conversations, and remind you all (and the church at large!) that we're always available should anyone want to chat!
This Sunday's passage hits on a number of things, one of which is same-sex desire and behavior. To that end, I wanted to offer two resources we've made available:
Our Approach to Sexuality (PDF): One-page, front and back, of our overall convictions and posture towards sexuality.
Same-Sex Sexuality in the NT (Part One; Part Two): Years ago now, I recorded recaps of a class on gender, sex, and sexuality ("Not Our Own"). There's a two-part look at same-sex sexuality in the NT, part of which deals with the text in Romans, as well as the claim that "homosexuality" is a modern insertion into our English bibles.
