Questions
- It’s impossible to show hospitality if you’re all by yourself! How is hospitality - by nature - a thing that requires other people?
- Read Acts 2:42-47. Let your imagination linger for a minute and consider what that might look like today. What strikes you about the picture of the church here? Why?
- Consider hospitality, in particular. How do we see outsiders, strangers, etc. being welcomed into the family of God… by God… through the people of God?
- As hundreds and thousands of people were suddenly becoming Christians, it was likely a little chaotic. How might devotion to God’s Word and to God’s [growing] people lead to “being together and having all things in common” - not division, confusion, and more chaos? Is that surprising? - How does this text challenge us to see risks to comfort, ease, and the “status quo” as opportunities for the gospel to shine bright through hospitality?
- How might the church’s hospitality play a part in more and more people being saved?

- Think about your own story. What role has the hospitality of God through the church played in you becoming a Christian. joining the church, sticking with the church, and/or anything else?
- As a group, what does it look like for you to be hospitable together - requiring coordination, sharing, collaboration, etc.? - Are there ways you can be hospitable better - or even only - when you’re hospitable together instead of on your own?
