Faith That Works Through Trials
(James 1:1-18)

Trials have a purpose, so long as we remember what is true about God in the midst.

  1. Count it joy when your faith is tested. (1-4)

  2. Trust that God provides exactly what we lack. (5-11)

  3. Rest in the unchanging goodnes of the Father. (12-18)

Reflection Questions

  • Where do you naturally run when the bottom drops out? Do you blame God, lash out at others, or lean on your own strength and resources?

  • How does the cross prove God’s unchanging goodness to you today? Because He birthed you by the Word of Truth, how can you trust Him in this trial and the next?

  • What is one trial where you need to stop seeking an escape and start asking for wisdom? How will you surrender control and rest in His shaping work this week?
