Who Comforts?
(2 Corinthians 1:3-11)

God's comfort through suffering is a deposit to be invested in the comfort of others.

  1. God's comfort multiplies comfort. (3-5)

  2. Suffering binds together in comfort. (6-7)

  3. Despair dies so hope can comfort. (8-11)

Reflection Questions

  • What "comfort deposit" has God given you in a past valley that you are currently withholding from someone else?

  • How does the reality of Jesus bearing the ultimate "sentence of death" on the cross secure your hope and guarantee that you are never abandoned in your dark valleys?

  • What specific circumstance in your life seems greater than your strength, where you must let self-reliance die so you can rely on the God who raises the dead?
