Dynamics of Power
(1 Samuel 26:1-25)
When power dynamics shift, our response matters.
When we gain the upper hand…
- …voices get louder. (v. 1-8)
- …character is tested. (9-16)
- …submission to God is the way. (17-25)
Reflection Questions
- What emotions are in play during transitions of power? - > What do you do when you're given much power? - > How do you think about those with authority over you?
- With great power comes… friends you never knew! - > How have you experienced “voices” vying for your ear? - > What helps silence, turn up, and isolate appropriate voices?
- What freedom (in plenty or little power) do we have in a Savior who willingly took a spear to the ribs and laid down his own life, to empower us to new life?
