The Exile of God's Glory Is Bad News
(1 Samuel 4:12-22)

Main Idea:
All bad news is bad news, but some bad news is the worst.

Stages of Bad News:

  1. See it coming.

  2. Hear it spoken.

  3. Feel it realized.

 
 

  1. How do you receive bad news?

    >> Does it catch you off guard?

    >> Do you expect it more often than not?

  2. In a scene like this in Samuel, what hope can we find when the news is wave after wave of bad news?

    >> What might God be doing to /for /through us in these times?

    >> What truths can we cling to?

  3. What relief is there in the darkest of days, even in the face of death that leads to death.

    >> How does God taking exile on his people’s behalf shape our life and prayers, even in this moment?
