God Goes to War with His Wicked Bride
(Hosea 10:1-15)
Main Idea:
The blessing of prosperity is a slippery slope towards the dread of independence.
-
- When we have little need, we depend on what we love. (10:1-6)
- When we worship with idol hands, our temples are overtaken. (10:7-11; 13-15)
- When we sow seeds of righteousness, we read the rain of steadfast love. (10:12)
Reflect, Repent, and Respond
- Do the “blessings” of life spur your heart towards thankfulness, or spiritual complacency?
- What evidence points to your heart’s worship of idols & temples overthrown by war & weeds?
- What hope is there in sowing seeds of righteousness by faith alone in Christ alone?
- By Christ’s work, give thanks for steadfast love and righteousness from God.
